The South Head Vagabond

Hi and Kia ora Tatou!

I guess by now many of you are thinking about putting away the beach umbrellas [so sad!] and are back at your work desk, or doing the school runs in the traffic!

Here at South Head we have lots going on – nearly 20 pumpkins in the garden! – such a pity I don’t eat pumpkin!

We are also getting ready to start hosting some fascinating guests who are coming to stay for short spells so I can help them write their autobiographies. I am genuinely excited about their stories.

I sold out of my first print run of the latest book, ‘The Courage of Women’ – more coming off the presses soon [check out the book page].

In the video archive this time I have included a powerful documentary about the Holmes family of South Auckland and how a mum and four wee girls went through the rigours of nursing a serious ill and much-loved dad.

Their story also features in ‘The Courage of Women’.

This week’s podcast is the second in a series about an amazing medical fraud/scandal from Auckland Hospital in the 1970s. Check it out.

Finally, I just want to draw your attention to my latest venture on Substack. I’m doing a series called ‘Faith for the rest of us.’ A few may find it a little controversial – it’s some of my ‘takes’ on what faith looks like at a practical, street level.

To access the series, go to robharley2.substack.com It’s free to join – and there’s the option to become a paying subscriber at a very low cost to support this work.
